Chuck, this getting old is not all fun for sure. But, as to cataracts, the removal of cataracts and replacement with artificial intraocular lenses is a wonderful, easy, fantastic thing. You can now get Restor lenses that actually can let you see both distance and close up and give you, in my case, better vision than I've ever had before in my life. I love them and I can walk in the rain without the worry of glasses getting wet or fogging over. GLad the macular degeneration is staying stable. Joyce
