Joyce: That’s great to hear. I’m going to have her ask her doc about that
if/when they get any worse, because she is constantly taking her glasses on and
off as well, because she CANNOT read with her glasses ON. Can’t remember if
that is far or near sightedness, but on the ol’ eyes, she and I are like the
old nursery rhyme “Jack Sprat and his wife”. I hope I’m not the ONLY one old
enough to remember that one LOL. My other problem is that on say flies that
are size 12 or smaller, I have to carry a 3.5X pair of glasses in my vest for
that. THESE little “eyes” just can’t see THOSE little “eyes” any longer
LOL...My trying to tie on a 16 or smaller is hard work.

BTW. To keep this fishing related, I normally use an improved clinch knot,
which is getting harder and harder for me to tie onto small hooks. Can somebody
tell me of a knot that is just as strong, but less strain on the eyeballs to
tie?? Thanks, Chuck

Chuck, this getting old is not all fun for sure. But, as to cataracts, the
removal of cataracts and replacement with artificial intraocular lenses is a
wonderful, easy, fantastic thing. You can now get Restor lenses that actually
can let you see both distance and close up and give you, in my case, better
vision than I've ever had before in my life. I love them and I can walk in the
rain without the worry of glasses getting wet or fogging over. GLad the macular
degeneration is staying stable. Joyce

Well folks: My wife and I had to go BACK to another doc today. She had to go
get her blood checked to see if her number they go by by giving her blood
thinners they have to do each month. Then, we both had to see the Eye doc, and
we BOTH have to have bi-focals. And they told her she has the early stages of
cateracts. This getting older stuff ain’t for Sissy’s LOL..Good news on my wife
is that he said the blood thinners had NOT caused any bleeding at all in her
eyes, which he says can be a common thing. My glasses are kinda weird. My far
off vision is 20/20, but I have to use 2.00 X reading glasses to read a
computer screen, then swap back to a 2.75X for reading books, newspapers etc.
So the upper part of mine will be 2X readers, then the bottoms will be 2.75X.
Then I’ll still have to take them off (which is why they always get really
scratched up, which is why I normally just go to the Dollar Tree store and buy
them by the dozen pairs or so for a buck a pair, then scatter them all over the
house, car etc. And another good thing is that my macular degeneration has NOT
gotten any worse. Chuck
