Wes,

I have a later printing of the first edition of Tom Nixon's book. In it, the Calcasieu Pigboat was made from heavy black chenille, rubber legs, and a spinner on the back of the fly tied on an extended piece of monofilament.

If I ever get my driveway plowed and permission from my wife to get out of the house, I'll try to make a copy of the 'recipe' and send it to you. I can also send you a chunk of the chenille he used. It's very hard to find today.

Somewhere in my collection, I've got an original Calcasieu Pigboat tied by Tom. If I can find it, I'll include a photo.

In the 2nd edition of Tom's book, he dropped the spinner from the recipe.

p.s.: The above is from memory. I'll have to dig the book out to see how well I remember it.
