Nev: Do you need some Guderbrod thread?? Let me know as I have a lot of it, but
I mostly use Danville Fly master plus these days. I have about 15 spools of
Guderbrod I’lll give you a good deal on (FREE LOL) if you email me at
[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> with
your address. I even have a new spool of that Guderbrod scarlet color in 3/0.
The other color range from black to white and every color in between. Some are
on reg sized spools, while others are on the wide skinny spools and in 3/0,
6,0, and 8/0 in size. I can do that as I have enough thread to last two
lifetimes, but like I said, I have gotten used to the Danville’s. Chuck

Hi Nev,

so true, the list has slowed down a lot.
However, it is also our responsibility to revive it a bit.

My fishing was slow this year for known reasons. One of my grandkids took me
out for fishing. Well, this 4 year old asked my a couple of time, if we
shouldn't go out and catch some fish. That's more precise. He is now eager to
ty some flies with me.
Tying season is ahead of us, so I'll intend to stock my boxes with my hoppers,
the blue (parachute) beetle and some EHCs.

However, I'm wondering if I shouldn't add something new to my arsenal. For
trout. Suggestions?

No wonder this site is not getting much traffic. I just did a search for "The
Virtual Flybox” and every virtual or non-vitual flbox is there except VFB.
There is a virtual flybox in Colorado with the same name but nary a word about
us. Maybe I should have searched for "Byard Miller’s Virtual Flybox".
Unfortunantly, since Byard lost interest in maintianing the site, we seem to
have slipped to the bottom of the list or even right off! It it little wonder
that we get little interest from newcomers. It really is a shame.

Changing the subject, does anyone know or remember when thread maker Gudebrod
went out of business after losing a conract to supply dental floss which it
seems was keeping the company going. I lose track of time but it must have at
least 5 or more years ago. I recently restored a Hardy split-cane rod and used
a new spool of red Gudebrod thread that I had but I ran out before finishing
the rod and had to pay a small fortune for 2x100 yard spools of scarlet thread
to finish the job and repace what I had used.
