Ok, back to the core of this discussion. Question for you... suppose you tied this big, wind resistent fly directly to the end of the flyline, and cast it. Would it turn over ok? If so, would you say the end of the flyline is as stiff as the heavy butt section of a mono leader? If not, then perhaps as stiff as the butt section of a furled leader? If it requires stiffnes to turn over this line with the big fly, surely this experiment would fail... Your serve, sir. Hans in receiving crouch...
