I like Gary's marabou egg pattern. The first time I fished it I had tied it
on but dropped it in the water while fumbling to get some tippet to make a
dropper. By the time the dropper was ready I started to retrieve the fly,
but discovered it had caught a fish! I took this as a sign and caught
several more using the same downstream presentation. It has been my favorite
egg fly every since.

The fly has a pink antron body, marabou tied in a loop from one end of the
shank to the other (size sixteen hook), and a little bit of brown hackle at
the head. I guess the movement of the marabou imitates the movements of the
natural eggs.
