First of my I welcome you the VFB, ( Virtual Fly Box) list. I would find
it very hard to believe that any on this list could be described as "Snooty"
or "Rich".
This list is directed to "Fly Fishing" for Trout, Bass, or anything else
that had fins and swims. Feel free to stick around and ask questions about
fly fishing and enjoy the wealth of knowledge that is on this list.
Understand that the participants are some of the finest fly tiers in the
world and will endeavor to impart their knowledge about it to you. "But",
the topic is "Fly Fishing", not bait fishing.
As to the gear, Wally World dose sell Fly Fishing gear at reasonable
prices and it is very well worth the investment to check it out.

Fly Rod? Aren't they expensive? Only doctors, lawyers, and the well off can
afford that type of gear. Besides, I want to catch fish for the table and
for
sport, not to wave a rod around like a snooty rich kid.
I get my rods, reels, line, bait, and the few spinners I use at the
local department store (read: Walmart). They don't carry $300.00 rods,
$400.00 reels, and $200.00 waders. Even if they did, I could buy a trout
farm
for what it would cost to fly fish!
