Don, Yes, I still have three hooks. Do you want to hear a story. When I did the Charlotte show a couple of years ago I stopped by a booth that had a load of old Mustad hooks. I decided to go to the bathroom before looking through two large plastic storage boxes of hooks he had.
On my way back I stopped at the booth and asked if he had any sz 32 hooks. He said there were some in one of the boxes but not sure if they were still there. Said he had just sold some. I spent 1/2 hour going through all the hooks and did not find any. Later that day I was talking to some guy that was watching me tie some sz 26 flies. He asked me if I had ever heard of sz 32, said he got two boxes from the guy that had the cheap Mustads, 5.00 a box. I asked if he would sell me a box, he said" I think I will hang on to them, they might be valuable." At that same show I talked to a dealer about some sz 32 hooks and he took my card. About two years later he called and offered me a unopened box of Mustad gold sz 32 hooks for 200.00. Said there was a box on E Bay that was already above 200.00. I went to E bay and found them, sure enough the bid was over 200.00. I did get 25 sz 32's from a place in Canada. Tied up 10 flies, One is on Hans's site. I replaced some hooks for several others that broke them in the vise. This was something that Hans was doing. He can chime in about it. In any case I have three original sz 32 hooks.
