I am fortunate to live in an area where ai have acess to about 150 ponds to fish in.  Several of the land owners limit who they will let on their land. If you take care of it and don't mess things up then  you get talked about and can get into more ponds.

I always find out if the land owner lieks fish and if so I fillet some at the pond to leave with him on the way home.  The ponds here can produce huge numbers of panfish and taking them in a good conservation move.  I have worked on several ponds to increase the sixe of the fish by taking hundreds of small ones out.

A few folks charge to go on their land and I chose not to do that. I tell them that I have to many other places to go.  Here in Iowa they can restrict your right to cross their land.

I generally find that most people will let you do it with no problems.
