This is very close to what I use. I use old filmstrip canisters - and I have an 8 - drawer cabinet made to hold these canisters. The drawers are wide deep and flat - about 2 1/2 inches tall. I keep the hooks in the canisters in one section, beads in another. The rest is used to store feathers flat; some large fur pieces, and misc. stuff. I also have several plastic "parts cabinets" with labels to store the small stuff. I keep my tools in a piece of log I picked out of a beaver dam in CO. It is chewed on both ends. I cut a flat place off the bottom to keep it steady, drilled holes in the top and varnished it. Like, Deb, the long feathers go into vases. Other stuff into plastic shoebox containers. I made dubbing boxes out of smaller multi-compartment plastic boxes. Just drilled a 1/2 inch hole in the bottom of each compartment.
