Rick,

I didn't design the fly, nor submit the pattern to Fliflicker.com. My "friend" Rich Lewis did the tying & submitting... I'm just tying them with the wings...no Blades as yet... I think you can Email him directly by clicking on his name, which is high lighted in blue... I'm using the Kalin's 1 1/2" "salty grubs" for the tail/body part. I'm sure that Rich won't care what you use for the Wing material... case in point; I've got some "Pearl/Red Flake" grubs that I'm going to tye Awesome hair in Pearl for the wings... the barred Surf Perch will be giving live bearth to their young soon & You know the Hailbut will be waiting around for the tasty tid-bits to arrive....this combo should work bloody great to imitate Baby Surf perch... I'm hoping seriously for a very "Legal" size halibut in the surf coming soon.....

 Thanks for your feedback....

I would consider it a fly.  I have a couple with blades on them that I use and consider flies.  Also there were plastic tails to go on Wooly Buggers a few years ago.

What size blades are you using?

I am thinking of using 1 " grubs and doing this for a crappie
fly.

Would craft hair work for this fly also.  I have it in several colors.
