Is it a fly -- I would say no -- but why -- I'm not sure -- maybe because it uses parts that are made for spin fishing.

But if this isn't a fly  it also calls into question a lot of other so called flies that use synthetic materials.

I'm not about to throw stones.

Subject: [VFB] Your Oppinion...is this a Fly????

Hey Folks,

I blew off going for some Surf action this morning....Santa Ana winds make casting a 200 grain "+" a painful situation...not to mention getting "Brained" by one of those wieghted flies ain't my idea of fun....

Anyhow, I thought i'd get folks' oppinion on the Following fly.

Please give this a look over & let us know if you consider this a fly or not. I actually consider this a fly...for the Southern California Surf zone anyhow.. seeing as we use a Ton of synthetic materials for alot of Ocean flies out there.. this is just a different way of applying them. I have begun tying up a number of these for my Surf fly box...

  Looking forward to everyone's oppinion....
