I wouldn't consider it a fly either, even though many of my flies would best Jimmy's head. Anything that depends that mucxh on a plastic curly tail grub is just a modified spinning lure (couldn't they have at least made the tail out of suede or something?)

I actually consider this a fly...for the Southern California Surf zone anyhow.. seeing as we use a Ton of synthetic materials for alot of Ocean flies out there.. this is just a different way of applying them. I have begun tying up a number of these for my Surf fly box...
