Eddie,

I'm in Greenbelt. I was fishing a little creek, called Indian Creek, in Beltsville
when this happened. I went over there the other day, and someone had broken down the
beaver dam. The little fuzz balls were busilly cutting down more trees.

You could see some of the details of the original dam. It was in a sine wave across
the creek, and incorporated a sofa bed, a plastic swimming pool, two brand new
railroad ties and three tires. Along with many trees and much dirt.

The beaver house is about six feet tall. I hope they suceed. In the middle of all
the mess and hustle and bustle, in addition to all of fish, there were deer, herons
(greater and lesser) kingfishers, geese, ducks, muskrats, turtles and snakes.

I guess many suburbanites don't want these kind of neighbors, but it's great to see
the persistancy of nature fighting back.
