The beaver house is about six feet tall. I hope they suceed. In the middle of all the mess and hustle and bustle, in addition to all of fish, there were deer, herons (greater and lesser) kingfishers, geese, ducks, muskrats, turtles and snakes.
I guess many suburbanites don't want these kind of neighbors, but it's great to see the persistancy of nature fighting back.
Steve,

STEVE,
Living the San Fernando Valley, NW of Los Angeles.. I am always impressed by how hardy many of Mother Nature's Creatures are. We have a very healthy population of Red Squirrels. I walk around the Neighbourhood at night & at certian times of the year you will see roving bands of Hugh Racoons walking the streets. Every year it seems that someone who owns a High ticket house in the local hills has Bear problems... Bear coming down & takeing a swim in their Pool!!!!!. I've seen deer right off the Freeways. One can watch Bobcats,Opossums,Ground Squirrels without going too deep into the Urban Wilds... Of Course there is the downside to closeness with Nature's Creatures....the unfortunate few who have been attacked & Killed by Mountian Lions in the local Hills/Mountians. Thought from what I've read about the "Attacks" the unfortunate Human probally was totally oblivious to their surroundings... I am always very aware of my Surroundings when enjoying Mother Nature's Finest... I guess some folks are not...
Anyway, I always feel good inside watching the "wild Creatures" going about their business in the suburbs...Nature always finds a way...
