I'm inspired by this. I just have to try it for myself. ....even if I pay too much for my rubber bands, paper clips and all.

Where are you at in maryland? Im in columbia and there is a big pond next to a business complex, something like that happened to me when I was fishing it. Lady took some twine and a rubber band through a safety pin and caught a nice sized bass. Rubber Band "baits"(flies or lures, decide for yourself) work, i've seen them catch trout, too.
