Check out Stanley's Ice-Off Paste (http://www.loonoutdoors.com/gotohaves.html)
I'm sure Byard could get it for you...
To be honest, when it's single digits, even with ice-off, your window of
decent fishing is pretty narrow - usually in the "warmth" of the afternoon,
which in Michigan means betwen noon and 4pm. You get out, fish, keep the
line moving through the guide, and once it starts freezing, you're pretty much
done too...
The fun part that I haven't figured out is how to keep the balls of ice
off your felt soles that turn you into Frankenstein from the river to the
car...I don't know if the swappable soles will fix that problem or
not...
