To answer your question, , NO. When I finish using the SA line I take in the shower with me. Rinse it. That's it. I have one line that is well into its second year and has not slowed down at all. BUT, it does not roll cast esp. well because of the head size. and it likes to cast 40 - 80' to not 30 to 60'. I agree with Alan. The TT 5/6 will do very nicely !!
