Try some Tulle, it might work for the wings
I used some iridescent metallic twist on a Bumblebee pattern a few years ago. From my tying instructions:
"Cut the wings out of metallic twist from the crafts store. I used MPR (HighPoint,NC) brand Metallic Twist, KTC-310 Iridescent"
If I remember correctly, I got this at Hobby Lobby (could have been Michael's). This was from L.J.Decuir's website (still on-line, but probably not for much longer):

Unfortunately, with the lighting, the wings were completely blanked out.
