Chris, all 5 of those states Deb mentioned DO get HOT! But only one has any real humidity, Florida. Texas may have some down in the south. Calif., Arizona, and New Mexico are very dry. I grew up there so.........sorry Deb. Main reason i replied though, was to give you my phone number. When you hit the Catskills, (Dry Fly Fishing Mecca), in upstate New York, call me. 607-498-9944. mark

Dan, it must be nice to be a "Rich Englishman". I can barely afford to travel from Texas to Oregon and back each year. ;-)

Hi Jimi and the others who have been kind enough to send quik replies to my
e-mail. It looks like I will intend to move from South to North. Today I
will be drawing a couple of routes up, working out mileages etc.
I have received a couple of very kind offers from vfbers already offering to
show me the ropes on their waters - could you let me know where abouts in
the state you are so I can look it up.
It won't be until 2 years time provisionally.

I "Resemble" that remark. If you do make it here to NM, drop me a note and
we will wet a line.
Jimi

Just be sure to hit California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Florida etc

in

the cooler months. You may not enjoy fishing in the extreme heat and
humidity they get in those states if you're not accustomed to it. You can
move north with the weather.

Hi all,
for those of you who followed the 'Some questions on the US' thread
yesterday you may see the logical move to my next question. I apologise in
advance for posting a lot to the group :)
If I was to make my trip between say February and September, would it be
better to travel East to West, West to East, North to South or South to
North in the USA? This is based primarily on the weather and the fishing.
Thanks
Chris
