I often use a glass bead for the head on my leeches.  I like them to sink (especially when the sun is bright) BUT if they sink too fast then they do not look natural.  I fish them slow and around structure during the day and on top at night.  Pickerel like them as much as bass.  My #1 leech is a black mohair leech with a black glass bead head.  Hook size 10 to 1/0 for bass.

Also I wanted to use rabbit fur,  again consensus say it should be marabou.
Of course I can tie it any way I want, I also want to tie a fly people want and will use.
