Jerry, that's exactly what Joe Humphries, (famed Penn. fly fishing professor/fisherman, who took over the program from George Harvey at Penn. State) does. He uses a color code for unweighted, lightly weighted, medium weighted, and heavily weighted. If i happen to watch that video anytime soon........LOL, ........i'll try to remember (write down) what the colors/weights are, and let you know. mark........

Some use a different color of thread for the weighted flies and don't bother with matching the fly body. Black for no weight, brown for weighted, etc
