Yes... this is how I tie hare and Coppers it gives a really shaggy effect for nymph legs...


Too much wax and the fly is gluggy and bouyant.. so you need a sticky wax where you can dub a lot with a little wax.. Overtons wax is the king for this...

If you don't use wax, do you not ever do touch dubbing..or if you do, how do you do it..and by this I mean where you wax the thread, touch the dubbing to it and immediately, without touching it with your fingers, just wind that fuzzy thread onto your fly..Joyce
