It would break at the knot and in the middle and just anywhere.. We all
had the same problem. I know we all do not use the same kind of knot.
I only catch the big ones sometime, like yesterday.
Only was out a real short time due to back problems. I caught two
Rainbows in the two to three pound class.

I won some name brand tippet material at a show. It was outdated also,
not the same brand I use. It was as bad as the other outdated tippet.
Lots of brake offs.
I generally discard my tippet if it is over a year old.
To answer your question, YES.
