The virtual flyshop (www.flyshop.com) has a review of several vices,
including my experience with the (original) Nor-Vise.
It is an excellent tool, but not really a universal vise. Norm Norlander
provides very good customer support. Some of the recent changes in the
vice (such as the locking mechanism on top of the barrel, and the
lever-lock for the jaws) have been improvements, whereas others (such as
the fine point jaws) have actually decreased the usefulness in the areas
where the original Nor-Vise shines, all of which include the ability of
the barrel to spin freely on ball bearings.
