You will be about 1 1/2 hrs to Newport RI from Boston. Providence is about
an hour from Boston. There's a lot of easy access to surf fishing here in
Southern Rhode Island also. Anyone who isn't interested in fishing can
spend the day roaming in Newport and touring the different mansions. :)
Shoppers paradise and plenty of touristy things to keep family members
occupied and happy! Or right down the street from me in Wickford RI you
can fish from the docks but Newport will buy you more time to fish.
Warm Regards,
Deb

Subject: Re: [VFB] New England in June

If you were to take the long way around to Burlington, you could swing by
the Ammonoosuc river around Littleton and Twin Mountains (no, not Twin
Peaks, no midgets talking backwards in a red room) in New Hampshire.
There's also the Androscoggin on the NH/ME border which ain't too bad
either. I'm trying to remember some of my Vermont streams and for the life
of me, I can't.

Outside of Burlington in the Shelburne Museum, if you head down closer to
Rutland there's several places where you can pick up sections of the Long
Trail (I recommend Deer's Leap, a great overlook of Mendon, and good views
of Killington and Pico). Plus, really good food in Rutland. And then if
you wanna take a side trip to Granville, NY (trust me, not far from Rutland)
the Slate Valley Museum is also really neat.

Ok, I'm done.
