Wes,

If you tie in a multi-use area, forget it. There wil be hair everywhere and
the missus will be on your case.

If you have a fly-room, a handi-vac is great for clean-up with a horse-hair
brush.

I have a low-velocity dispersal fan that moves air around without actually
blowing your materials off of the bench. You can get these in artist's stores.
This keeps you from breathing in the dust. I really need it for peacock herl
trimming, as the green dust cloud tries to turn me into the Hulk. Seriously,
feathers are very resistant to breakdown, and feather dust in the lungs can be
a problem- hair also. It also works to disperse head cement fumes, but I do
use an extra fan to evacuate the fumes from the room.

Have your waste basket (the tier's kind) right over your lap when you cut and
trim. This will get a lot of it, but not all. If static is a problem, get
some static reliever spray. A spray bottle of water- fine mist- can help also.

If you have a problem with hair on your clothes, buy a 'Lap Trap' tying apron,
or even a cooking apron will do. The Lap Trap has pockets for tools and such.

If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.

  Hi VFB!

I'd be interested in seeing tips on how to keep the mess to a minimum when
spinning or stacking deer hair. I've got a moderate range of allergies, and I
hate spinning and clipping cuz I get the stuff all over the place, all over the
house, all over me, up my nose, etc.etc.

I've gotten so that I only like spinning and trimming deer hair when I am
outdoors on a picnic table at the campsite!!

  HELP! Any tips?

  Thanks,

  Wes Wada
