I'd like to see a picture of that bobbin also! I'm pretty sure a lot of the Gudebrod rod wrapping threads and the braids are also available in the sewing stores for fancy stitching and embroidery. I believe that is what Gudebrod is known for and where their biggest market is. I don't know if Joyce is still active on the list but she could verify that. I don't sew but I remember seeing the name in the fabric stores and even the long thin spools that fit the old Multi purpose bobbin (made by Griffin) that is so difficult to find. http://www.flyfisherman.com/ftb/ssthread/ I'm not so sure about the 10/0 thread though unless it's used for something special like miniature work. The problem you may run into though is whether the spools will work with the fly tying bobbins you have. You may have to invest in a more expensive adjustable bobbin and if needed wax your own thread..... Oh back to the good Ole days! .... I mentioned this information to the fly shop I was at today and the question about the rod wrapping thread was their first concern. It seems to be a favorite. Regards, Deb

Now I wish I had gotten even more. I even had a friend of mine make me a bobbin that could handle the "Gutterman" style spools. I'm sure glad I followed through on them when they were available. -- Joe Fusco, Sr. Member of The Missouri Trout Fishermen's Association and The Virtual Fly Box
