I came upon a clearance sale and bought a new fly box, the kind made of aluminum with the glass covers on one side for dry flies and a foam patch on the other for nymphs. I took the opportunity to reorganize my flies with the intention of just getting the flies I use all of the time in this little box, and sticking the less used flies in a second box (I use a chest pack that has one main pocket that drops down for a primary fly box and a second zip up pocket for an additional box).

Anyway, this is how it panned out: One flip up compartment stuffed full of BHPT sizes 16-20, a second compartment filled with BHGRHE from 12 to 18, a third filled with parachute flies sizes 14 through 22, the fourth with traditional Adams style flies 14 -20, another compartment filled with scuds, and another filled with misc midge larvae. One flip up compartment is still empty, and on the foam side I have a couple dozen RS2's in various sizes.

These are the flies I use 90% if the time when fishing local streams.

In the second box I have Prince Nymphs, San Juan worms, some large foam flies (hoppers, cicadas, stonefly imitations) some Pale morning Dun's, a flock of Royal Wullf's and some stimulators) and some streamers.

What is in your "most used fly" box?
