I was fishing at a beaver pond once at dusk and was casting a dry fly and
caught a BAT in mid cast, I snagged the cute little furry guy in the wing
and was able to "catch and release" with no problem aside from a little
trauma for the bat who was happily hanging from a tree when I left.

I hooked a small alligator once, came outta nowhere and took my popper.
Billfish rules apply. If you can get your hand on the leader, its OK to
break it off and still call it a catch.

Chuch made me think of something that I have wanted to ask. What other than
fish have you hooked on your fly?

I have hooked and lost a bat, a muskrat and a pelican (actually he took my
trout and flew away with my line. Got the line back when the tippet broke.
Any one else?

Mike
