I remember stringers of gills (and crappies) like that when I lived in Ga. Man, we'd have some great fish-fries. Sounds like you need a 7-8wt outfit and a few blue-gill flies (not flies 'for' blue-gill) to start catching these monsters, too. It was great.. I caught 76. Caught 74 bluegills and 2 Shell Crackers (Red Eared Sunfish).. And the exciting part was, on at least 6 of those fish, big bass followed the bluegills all the way to the boat, trying to eat the Gills. And in one case, the bass must have weighed 10 pound.. I'm pulling the gill up out of the water when he come OUT of the water like Jaws.. Scared the heck outta Me..He almost landed IN the boat LOL..Another one was probably 5 pounds, ate the tiny 3" bluegill I had on my size 14 wet fly, and then caught the hook in his lip and I thought "Got me a bass now, AND a bluegill in his mouth LOL.. Then, he turned and snapped the 4 pound tippet like it was nothing... Oh well. They were biting great, Chuck ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
