It's still smoky here, and the fires are at least 300 miles away.. I can't even
get to sleep at night, cause I start coughing from the smoke and my nose gets
stopped dup.. I wish it would rain, rain, rain.. Today is day 43 I think
without a DROP here.. Rain comes out of Texas, then stops in Miss, or West AL,
and never reaches Me.. The lakes and rivers are 4 FEET down..I actually live IN
the Talladega Nat'l Forrest, and we are under a red zone till July 30th, with
no camp fires, no BBQ fires, and no fireworks.. I'm just hoping and praying a
fire don't start up here, cause the forest is 50 ft from my door step..Chuck

Same a few years ago with the forest fires in Nothern Mexico. Smoke all the
way to Waco, TX. Also, on occassion, I'll get up and find a good coating of
Dust from West Texas, the panhandle of Texas or other western state like
Nevada, Wyoming, Arizona. You can tell the state by the color of the dust. :-P

.It is smoky here though, from Forrest Fires all the way in SE
Georgia and N Florida.. They say the smoke goes all the way into Tennessee, and
that would be over a 300 mile trip.

Actually, it got hazy in Indiana this afternoon from the smoke in
FL/GA. That's pushing 800 miles from the fires.
