After six weeks of being at home with some back problems I finally got on the water. My buddy Mike and I went to Crooked Creek yesterday evening for about two hours. First fish for me was a Smallmouth. Then I caught 11 large Longear Gills that were as big as the palm of my hand. My fishing partner got several Gills and a Carp that was 22 to 24".It was as big around as a football on his 7 wt rod. He had him on for over a half hour before beaching and releasing it. I got all of my fish on the Chili Pepper, he got the gills on poppers and and Chili Peppers. The carp was caught on a Crawdad pattern tied with Chili Pepper chenille and burnt orange marabou. Pretty much Chili Pepper colors. Hope to get out again soon. Tony
