Iain et fellow festive swappers,

Many Thanks for the Xmas flies! I greatly enjoyed opening them up on
December 25th... and they will be treasured amongst my many swap flies
collection accumulated over the years. I was very happy to finally
receive them indeed. =)

However, I was not so happy to receive news that the very next day
Tom Fry had passed away on Boxing Day, especially, after I only spoken
to him
on the phone a few weeks before that when I was out in Toronto on
business.

A number of us from FF@/CANFF@ traveled down to his memorial service
this
past Monday in Calgary, and I was asked by Rose Fry (Tom's Wife) to
deliver
a Eulogy for him. Without a doubt it was one of the hardest thing I've
ever
had to write or deliver in my life. There were about 150-200 folks in
attendance
for the service.

I will post the entire text of the Eulogy later on this evening on my
blog and
a few final photos, and once again spark up the campfire for Tom.

Alberta Klave 2008 planning is already underway.. with the Bow River set
as
the stream of choice as was done in 2000 back when Tom hosted the Klave.

Until then, I remain, that 'evil personage' Lance (Ranger Bob) Taylor -
