Back in November I tested out creating an mp4 file with the H.264 codec and got them to play on my iPod by selecting the baseline profile. Today with QT 7.0.4 I'm unable to get this to work. Has anyone got this to work recently?

Earlier this year (before I got an iPod), I was wondering if my .m4v files exported by iMovie were playing on an iPod.  Someone on this group made a post,  to change the extension to .mp4:

The above video (on my video-blog at http://jumplive.blogspot.com) will play on an iPod.

Where are you "creating the mp4 file with H.264 codec", QT 7 Pro?

I don't feel like paying $30 for QT 7 Pro, if I did so for QT 4 Pro (there are others like me, see Apple Forums).

QT 7 Pro will let you set the "Poster Frame" for the video, that's something I could use.  Is there another program which will do this?
