If / when the Find Route functionality returns to Viking I fully expect it to
be integrated against various versions of OSM routing providers as listed here:

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Routing/OnlineRouters

I expect there will be an XML config of some manner to describe the service,
(URL, capabilities (walk/bike/car/ avoid tolls etc...) in a similar manner to
the current Go To Services or Map Providers - thus it is simple for the *end
user* to add new or different providers.

Further I expect Viking will only work with providers that return 'standard'
direction files i.e. GPX. Almost all OSM Online Routers can return GPX except
MapQuest.

Since we use GPSBabel for file conversions perhaps one day GPSBabel will
understand GeoJSON as it's likely more and more providers will offer it (or in
the case of Google the only option).

Since I personally don't use this feature with Viking, it is a long way down my
priority list.
