Hello all,

please stop one thing: some of you act as if creating git repository means
deletion of CVS and SVN trees and Bram's e-mail client! I don't remember so hot
discussion when SVN started (and CVS was already up) so why now?

All we have done is that two of us wrote a list of advantages we hope that they
will be valueable for both Bram and non-Brams (=the other developpers). We
don't force anyone to start using git, to stop using his favorite CVS etc.
All we want to do is to start the git repo for vim and let you to try it.

And git can help even those who will not use it as it helps with porting
patches to another vim version (typically the current one), patches coming to
the mailing-list will be for the current patchlevel more often. Which saves the
time for all who want to test that patch. And vice versa: problem reported or
patch based on the older patchlevel will be lesser problem for git people so
they will be able to help better in that situations.
