Dear list,

When I press ALT_C in GVim, it generates the character "ã" (a tilde).
This is problematic since I can't create an imap to ALT_C, for typing
"ã" will also trigger the mapping.

I'm interested in fixing this bug and providing a patch, but I've never
looked in Vim's code, so if someone could give me an entry point, I
would appreciate.

Yeah, this is a known limitation. We have planned out a roadmap to fix it, but it is quite a large job, and I don't think anybody is actually working on it yet. There are plenty of people interested in having it fixed, though, so I'm sure as soon as one of them has some spare time, it will happen!

Ben.
