I believe that Vim is a lot more popular than > Emacs. All those that I know that have tried vim and abandoned it seemed to have done so for two reasons (their words, roughly) 1)It's too weird (modal editing) 2)It's too hard. I hear similiar reasons regarding emacs. I use both, tho' primarily vim/gvim :) My physical therapist, who is also my wife says using emacs exercises the hands more (she's right on there!) by requiring more flexibility.
But seriously, in my experience, the more configurable the system is, the more difficult it is to learn. In my case, I have found the learning curve worth the time. For both vim and emacs. cheers -- Tim tim at johnsons-web.com or akwebsoft.com http://www.akwebsoft.com -- You received this message from the "vim_use" maillist. Do not top-post!
