I tried again to put OS 6.0.8 on a floppy using the Classic, it still says that the file is too large to fit. The 20SC came with a plug along with the cord, I just plugged it into the HD and now the light comes on after it has started up and when plugged into the Plus still does nothing.
I don't have any system disks on a floppy but did buy 10 800k disks and they seem to be good ones. thanks for any help. I have a star screwdriver to take two of the back screws out but not one long enough to reach the two screws in the top, do u know where I can buy one. I"m trying to find a Mac 512 and a SE also. The old ones are neat. I still have my first iMac but sold my LC ll years ago. thanks Doug Original Message: ----------------- From: dale-gmail [email protected] Date: Sat, 5 Nov 2011 10:24:15 -0600 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Mac Plus 1 MB hi there; you can get 6.0.8 on to a 800k floppy, but the trick is you have to build system 6.0.8 with the 6.0.8 install software onto a 800k floppy on the 20SC: could be the plus is sensitive to termination is there a terminator (50 pin SE) plugged into the empty 50 pin connector. another possibility is the system folder is not in the right place.or not 'blessed' properly. the new boxes do not seem to care where the system folder, but the plus might. good luck; dale in dolores ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, November 05, 2011 9:31 AM Subject: Re: Mac Plus 1 MB Yes it does. It plugs right in but when I turn on the Plus I still get the "?" instead of the desktop. How so I get the Plus to recognize the hard drive plugged into it? Also, where can I get a long shank star screw driver to open the case? thanks doug Original Message: ----------------- From: Ken Daggett [email protected] Date: Sat, 5 Nov 2011 07:20:14 -0700 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Mac Plus 1 MB On 5 Nov 2011, at 7:02 AM, [email protected] wrote: > The Apple hard drive is a 20SC model 2604 made in USA. You just need the proper cable and terminator. Ken -- ----- You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group.
