Depends on what sort of "standalone app" we're dealing with.

As I mentioned, a lot of slide show programs, as well as HyperCard-type
programs, had an option to save as a standalone app, whereby the
presentation/stack/whatever was saved *along with* a runtime version of the
application - basically a "player" application, as it were.

If the original programme can be found, it might be possible to open up the
standalone ap, extract the original presentation, and then save it in some
other format that can be used with System 7.
