(And I think also blocks the use of the PDS, >unless you're into custom cases and stacking PDS >connectors.) Oh, the Turbo040 wasn't for the Q605; the Q605 just happened to be on hand to serve as most of a useful test-bed for the Value040s. Yes, the Value040 is a direct to PDS slot upgrade for the LC and LCII. Unfortunately, the compatibility list does not appear to include the LCIII. However, it's possible that the list was out of date. When did Daystar stop operations? Were they still going when the LCIII was released? I don't want an upgrade card for the Q605. I've got it chipped for 33 MHz and 68 MB RAM installed. I've got a full 40 MHz CPU slated for installation, and the Motorola chip which needs replacement to make the 40 MHz modification work. So I think that's as far as it needs to go. The thing that would be really nice for the Q605 isn't a faster CPU, but better video. It's really a pity the thing only takes 512K VRAM. Anyone know if the video circuitry can take more VRAM in theory? Ignore, for now, the practicalities of the sockets and traces which are actually present. From the Apple documents, I suspect that it can't. Jeff Walther -- Vintage Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
