First install Open Transport 1.1.1 then 1.1.2 (you cannot just install 1.1.2!) on the Mac. On the PC you need to be running Windows 98SE or later with Internet Connection Sharing installed. (It's installed on XP by default, dunno about ME or 2000.) A shared internet connection does NOT allow the Mac to access files and drives on the Windows PC. You need either 3rd party software for the Mac _or_ Windows, or some version of Windows Server (NT4, 2000, .NET, 2003) with Services For Macintosh installed or Linux with Samba or a PowerMac with OSX. Ain't it *fun* how Apple refused to provide a Mac to Windows networking solution from 1995 until the later releases of OSX? :P Apple did have an AppleShare Client for Windows 3.1x and said they would do a client for Win95, then immediately dumped AppleShare and began work on AppleShare IP with no intention of ever releasing an ASIP client for Windows. Microsoft wasn't much better, only providing a Windows to Mac networking solution with their hyper expensive Server products, a path they're still following. A better group for Mac<>PC networking questions is the Mac-N-DOS one. We're a bit bored over there, hasn't been a post in ages. C'mon over and we'll get you going! ===== "When you are wrestling for possession of a sword, the man with the handle always wins." Hiro Protagonist __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
