As long as someone is comfortable with statically assigning IP information, MacTCP should always work. MacTCP doesn't do DHCP, so you'd be stuck with it.


I've used a System 6 Mac with MacTCP on everything from a dialup-shared-with-a-router to my company's Gigabit ethernet segment.
