in a Command prompt in NT/2000/XP.

You'll need the free Stuffit Expander for Windows to
uncompress the .sit files or decode .hqx or .bin
files before trying RAWRITE. Most Linux distros
include
RAWRITE and there are other ways to do it with Linux.

Hmmm, the long version of this is here:
http://macfaq.org/software/macos.shtml#Q1.1.6
and is one of my most un-pleasant mac experiences to date.
I dont know where it goes wrong, maybe as simple as a unblessed system folder, I do know that I've never made it work this way so its not a link I'd foward to some one unsure of macs who is relying on a pc to make a usable image.

Most macs covered by this list can be up and running with the 7.5 disktools disk and extra disk containing stuffit lite and a apple cd extension.
The image of a working boot disk made from a mac floppy on a pc is simple to make and usable by many programs on either pc/nix.
The last few lines of section 1.1.6 are then very useful.

Rawritewin has replaced rawrite on many distros, thankfully.

Cheers
