Did you install OT 1.1.1 then 1.1.2? You have to do
it that way since Apple has never released 1.1.2 as
anything but an update to 1.1.1.

Have you tried different cables? Certain you're not
using a crossover cable and that the cable is
wired correctly? It's possible to wire a cable so
that all the wires connect straight through but have
it not work. The twisted pairs have to be together
so they're all signal-ground pairs.
