The cables are good. The Mac says I've got OT 1.1.2
I'm running OS 7.5.5. I think you're right about the auto sensing router and switch.
Where do I find a dumb hub? The Linksys one I found is an auto sensing hub.

How can I see if the Asante card is even showing up in the system?
Is there a way to set the Mac on a static IP? I don't have any idea how to do this with the router.

Thanks

Thomas

I'm still having trouble with the Asante Nubus
Ethernet Card. I stuck a
switch between the router and my Mac IIci. I've
upgraded the OS to 7.5.5
added OT 1.1.2 and installed the drivers for this
card from Asante. I'm
still getting this blinking green light on the back
of the card and no light
on the switch (or router). Any suggestions?

Did you install OT 1.1.1 then 1.1.2? You have to do it that way since Apple has never released 1.1.2 as anything but an update to 1.1.1.

Have you tried different cables? Certain you're not
using a crossover cable and that the cable is
wired correctly? It's possible to wire a cable so
that all the wires connect straight through but have
it not work. The twisted pairs have to be together
so they're all signal-ground pairs.
