I bought the Crescendo upgrades for a 6100 and 7100 and wasn't overly impressed, I think the bottleneck was the slow bus. Honestly over the years I can't say I've really been impressed by most of the CPU upgrades out there with perhaps the exception of the Newer upgrades for the 604 PowerTower Pro clones. I think there are some pretty decent deals to be had in the used market though. I finally picked up a B&W G3 450 for a nice price, and upgraded my PV 1400 finally to a Lombard the other day.
