Henry,

Thanks fro the link. Seems like a good product, probably much better than
our local answer to this. But unfortunately for us we have to think a hundred
times and weigh pros and cons while ordering products off the www. Shipping is
a problem. Delivery is a problem. Things can and do get lost or rather
mysteriously disappear en route unless being delivered via courier.

regards,

Asad

very happy to get my hands on this particular unit since it would have served
an 'off the shelf' replacement unit for any of my bugs which had any kind of
engine issue anytime. Would have made it possible to bring a car back to the
road in a matter of hours. This was not meant to be repaired or tinkered on.> I
discussed the matter with an old timer who also gave me the option of repairing
the case either by using a custom made piece of sheetmetal designed to hold the
oil cooler in place (would not work since the break runs thr!
u the oil passage.....at that time that was not known to me) O!
 R the ot
her option is to repair the case using something we have available locally. Its
a very tough 'bandaid' solution to any problem under the sun. Its something
like Araldite but only a lot tougher. Its made in Pakistan and very popular
with mechanics given its versatility and immense potential of use. Known as
'Magic Epoxy Steel' it just might be a solution to my problem.> > Would think
of which way to go soon. Would prefer welding if done reliably, otherwise might
try the bandaid solution at least till the time the engine sits in storage.> >
