If the grub screw comes loose, the torsion arm could move in and out, but
would not just flop up/down in the beam unless the spring leaves have broken.?
Not sure whether the piece that is in the torsion arm that slides over the
torsion leaves is somehow pressed into the torsion arm, or actually a machined
part of the arm.

Subject: [vintagvw] Front Torsions Revisited

I had a guy come see me at work and he asked about the right upper front
trailing arm on a 1970 beetle. He says the whole thing moves around and
he's not sure if something in the axle beam is amiss or what. I can't find
my Bentley manual but I'm gonna go look some more. Is there anything out on
end that can cause it to come loose? Thanks!
